Description of obverse and reverse
Obverse: Centrally, the image of the Eagle, established as the state emblem of the Republic of Poland against stylised outlines of a city panorama. To the left of the Eagle, the notation of the year of issue: 2012, to the right - an inscription: 10 ZŁ. At the top, in semicircle, an inscription: RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA [THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND]. At the bottom, on the right, a stylised image of the logo of the Polish Olympic Committee. Below the Eagle, on the right, the Mint’s mark, M/W.
Reverse: Centrally, a composition of stylised images of competitors of different sports disciplines, against the background of five stylised rings. At the top, an inscription: POLSKA REPREZENTACJA OLIMPIJSKA/LONDYN [POLISH OLYMPIC TEAM/LONDON]. Below the inscription, the notation of the year of issue: 2012.
A brief annotation
A 218-athletes Polish Olympic Team participated in 22 sports of the Games of the XXX Olympiad. The team included five past Olympic champions, two of them defending. Five Polish athletes competed at their fifth Olympic games. Agnieszka Radwańska, who played in the women's tennis doubles with her sister, became the first Polish female flag bearer at the opening ceremony. Michał Jeliński was the flag bearer at the closing ceremony. Poland left London with a total of 10 Olympic medals (2 gold, 2 silver, and 6 bronze), placed 30th in the nation's overall classification of 79 Olympic Medal Winners.
